New Job, Who Dis?

Guess who has a job now?? This girl!! After the long road of job hunting and sending in applications, I've finally found a job opportunity, or more accurately, it found me.

A few days after returning home from my Labor Day Weekend adventure in Donner Lake, my former internship supervisor reached out to me asking me to join her Public Relations (PR) team at her own PR Consulting Firm, Whitney Communications. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity. I had such a great experience working with her at Juice Beauty that when she reached out to me again, I knew automatically it was a yes.

After a quick call to discuss the job duties and client profiles, I was hired on the spot. You're looking at the newest PR Assistant for Whitney Communications! I'm so grateful for this opportunity to re-join the workforce in the PR and Marketing fields, and to be working with someone who sees my potential and really believes in my work.

It was hard during the job hunt trying to figure out what direction I wanted to take my career in. There were times where I considered if I really wanted to be in creative marketing, and more importantly, if I was enough good enough to be a competitive candidate, but I can say that after my first few days jumping back into this business, this is where I want to be. I feel so comfortable working with Influencer research and outreach and the other PR projects I've been assigned to do. I think this opportunity was the reminder I needed that I'm meant to take my career down the path of PR and Marketing.

Although the firm is small, this is a HUGE opportunity to get my hands dirty in every little aspect of the PR world. I can really get into the "nitty-gritty" of what happens behind the scenes of successful PR management and PR Campaigns. It's a great opportunity to get the one-on-one mentorship I've been looking for, all while networking with new brands and their teams too.

I'm excited to see where this opportunity takes me, and to take bigger and better steps to growing professionally and developing my career.
