So I've discovered a new app that I thought I would share! It's called FlipFit.
With COVID limiting the possibility of shopping in-store and trying things on before buying, FlipFit allows you to bring the "fitting room to your living room". The app lets you try on clothes in the comfort and safety of your home and then ask your friends and other users for advice on whether to keep or return the tagged item by uploading images to the app.
So to share my experience, first I signed up and created a profile on the app. After entering my contact, payment, and measurement & sizing information, I went onto the Feed tab and started to vote on different looks uploaded by other users. Kind of like Tinder, I can swipe to vote for the user to keep or to return the tagged item in the photo. While voting (which you earn shopping credits for by the way), I can also view the tagged item and add it to my "Closet" for my stylist include when I order my own Flip box. They feature brands such as Line + Dot, Free People, Quay, Girlfriend Collective, Lost + Wander, ASTR the Label, and more!
When I ordered my Flip box I received 10-12 items, some of which I previously added to my "Closet" and some of which my stylist thought I would like based off of my Instagram profile. I tried on the items and took pictures around my house to upload to the app so that I could get votes on whether to keep or return the items. Once I decided which pieces I would keep, I checked out on the app, put the other items back into the box, stuck on the return label, and dropped off the box at the closest UPS location.
Plus you can pack in some of your old clothes and FlipFit will clean and donate them for you!
The FlipFit App was a fun and easy way to shop in the comfort of my own home. I especially liked it because I was able to style the new items with pieces I already had in my closet before deciding to buy, you don't get that in a traditional fitting room experience.
